Twelve-story building on a 6,500 square feet lot.
Erected circa 1900, it is a residential building with a commercial space on the ground floor.
Project Highlights
Scope of Project: Following a thorough investigation of the building (See Building Forensics), FSI identified poor and improper repairs and points of deterioration at various building components including water tables, cornices, stone sills, terracotta ornamentation and water infiltration.
FSI's Involvement: FSI prepared documents and managed the complete restoration of all the building facades. Restoration work included masonry repointing and brick replacement, reconstruction of window lintels, structural steel replacement, repair of limestone and terracotta ornamentation and cornice restoration. In order to ensure project success, FSI also cladded the east facade in aluminium panel as to restore the original look of the building and preserve its unique traits.
