Facade Inspection Safety Program (FISP)

The building Facade Inspection Safety Program in New York City, formerly known as Local Law 11 of 1998, requires the review of all components of the exterior of a building to determine whether the walls and appurtenances are safe in the judgment of the Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI).

This inspection is required for all buildings greater than six stories in height. After the examination, a report is to be prepared by the inspector and filed with the Building Department no later than 60 days after the examination.

FSI Architecture has over twenty years of experience in the inspection and restoration of existing structures, particularly of buildings with historic significance. The experienced professionals at FSI can help you investigate the conditions of your property and comply with city regulations. In addition, if problems are discovered, we can assist in determining the most effective and economical restoration methods.
